Not the worst thing I've ever watched. I know many people hate this "documentary" for apparently being fake or something like that, even though at the beginning of the show and in-between commercial break they state that everything is "dramatized", therefore, it's told to you many times that it is in fact fake.. so, I'm not sure what all the bitching and moaning is about.
The effects on the costume are pretty good, but the actor they got, they didn't even both changing up his face, so it looks awkward asf.. because the face does not represent a relic hominid whatsoever, more like a WWE wrestler they put a fur coat on. Anyways.. the cutaways with Dr. Jeff Meldrum / Dr. John Bindernagel are the best parts of the entire movie as they tak within their field of expertise about the possibility of such a creature existing - even creating a hypothetical giant skeleton model of what a Sasquatch could look like irl - which was cool, ngl. The actual capture of Sasquatch, when that scene happens, is I guess what I'd expect would happen; once again being a dramatization, and it was fine. The acting was subpar, but whatever, I didn't really care too much.
I was honestly hoping for the Sasquatch to get revenge at the end and massacre everyone, but no.. it just escapes and everyone starts blaming each other or some shit, then it ends. The actual hypothetical imo would be closer to an encounter with a Grizzly Bear in all honesty, none of them should've come out alive at the end.

I've seen many documentaries of all types, but I've also seen many documentaries on cryptids, specifically.. on Bigfoot. Now, was this any different than any other documentary on said creature? Not really. It was what I expected, just story after story, except unlike the older films, this one was a bit more dramatic. It takes itself very seriously, which is.. fine (to a certain extent), whereas the older docs would usually have a sense of humor / down-to-earth(ness) to them. It's not to say this wasn't a good documentary, but there isn't much to really learn or experience from this one. It felt very underwhelming (imo)and the interviews were what I expected, as in they were emotional but also all the same / predictable.
Now.. the original version of this film had a photograph or two that was shown at the very end which caught a lot of flack / controversy, as it was claimed they were "real" photos, but in all actuality, just by glancing at them... they were clearly a dude in a monkey costume. The fact of the matter is.. if you're trying to present your film as legit and serious, why would you then show a clear as day, fake asf photo of said "real" Sasquatch? This rubbed me the wrong way and it clearly got back to them, because they erased that part of the film.. once again, wtf were they thinking?
Anyways, overall.. it's okay / mediocre.. maybe slightly above mediocre, but nothing I'd ever bring up or attempt to watch again. Take my review as you will.

This film is the definition of "mediocre" and "below average". It's like it was trying to combine the concept of Sphere (a much better movie - mind you) and the mythology of Cthulu / Lovecraft-ian crap. Acting was bad or at least acceptable enough for the story to get along, but none of the characters were worth a shit, so it really doesn't matter. The effects of Cthulu-looking monster was fine.. .even tho you could tell it was a guy in a suit that was in front of a green-screen of some sort. Major problem with the film tho... it was too short, so it feels like they could've added more to the lore or to whatever they were trying to build up to, but for whatever reason.. the movie is only 1 hour, 16 minutes or so (the 1 hr, 37 minutes is a lie), therefore it makes it feel like it was rushed.
Yah.. then they attempted to end it like the movie Alien or whatever... just trash, yah.. garbage.

The effects of the Chupacabra was the only good thing about this movie, the rest of it was laughable and trash.

Doesn't deserve the terrible rating its getting on IMDB, it's not a terrible film... it's just not a very memorable one. Technically, it's a slasher.. but it sorta tries to be something else as well(?) Main character(s) were fine but nothing too special. I didn't really care for any of them, that's the problem. The "killer" is just some kid.. like in his 20's or whatever. The actual death toll isn't too bad, but the killer is unimpressive and quite boring / cliche. By the end, I was already zoned out and ready to do something else.
But, once again.. not terrible, just not great either.
